Practice

align is a dynamic, innovative and multi-award-winning interior architecture and design practice, co-founded in 2014 by Nigel Tresise and Gurvinder Khurana and now under the sole leadership of Director Nigel Tresise.

align specialises in workplace strategy and design, along with hospitality, mixed-use projects and private and developer residential schemes. Our client base covers a wide spectrum of sectors, including music, media, finance, law, technology, charity, property developers, private clients and the public sector. We love this cross-fertilisation of influences and the way it keeps our cosmopolitan creative team constantly open to new information and ways of working.

align works both nationally and internationally and is based in London in the burgeoning and creative Exmouth Market area. Our core business is – as our name suggests - to align clients’ brands and businesses with environments designed to answer real people’s wants and needs, seeking to balance brand expression and each project’s contextual location and building envelope with end-user ergonomics and wellbeing.  Our projects are regularly published around the world - in office and interiors magazines such as MIX Interiors, FX, OnOffice, Work in Mind, Das Büro, Office Shapshots, Office et Culture and IFJ - as well as in leading architectural, design and hospitality titles.

Both our projects and the studio itself have won awards - a total of sixteen national and international design and creative awards to date, including being named ‘Best Small Practice’ at the London Design Awards twice over. Our projects took Gold and Silver in the Corporate & Commercial and in the Co-working categories of the same awards in 2019, as well as the Corporate & Commercial Gold in 2018. In 2017, we also won ‘Hospitality Interiors Project of the Year’ at Mixology 2017 for Omeara, the bar/club/event venue project we completed for Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons, whilst in 2015 we won the ‘Annual Office Space Award’ at the prestigious Modern Decoration International Media Awards in China.
